The NanoEnG group offers technical support for the solution of industrial problems in the field of materials science and technology, in particular on glass and ceramic materials, nanocomposites and nanotechnologies.

Some examples of subjects are:

•  Thin glass, ceramic, or hybrid organic-inorganic coatings on various substrates deposited from solutions for:

• corrosion protection
• change of optical properties (reflectance/absorbance, refractive index, luminescence, color)
• improvement of mechanical properties (scratch resistant, hardness)
• chemical functionalization (catalysis, gas sensing)
• thermal barrier
• wettability (superhydrophobic/hydrophilic, antifogging, anti-icing, self-cleaning)

•  Synthesis and characterization of glasses, ceramics, glass-ceramics

•  Synthesis and characterization of nanopowders and nanoparticles

•  Synthesis and characterization of porous materials

The support may be given as:

•  analytical testing, using the available instrumentation and labs (Techniques & Tools), upon specific request at costs which are already fixed (Tariffario) or determined for special cases

•  research contract, upon approval by the Department

•  consultancy contract, upon approval by the Department
